  • Allen Holdsworth and Full Shred Neck waiting to go in.

    I got a custom '67 V that will be getting a new sound :

    Allen Holdsworth (Bridge)
    Full Shred (Neck)

I'm expecting a very articulate sound. Will I be disappointed?

I had Duncan Jimmy Page Custom Shop PUs in my V but those will be going in a new PRS Tremonti SE (for now).

Well, I was disapointed by my FS. I have it in the neck of a mahogany guitar, and it wasnt articulate at all. The distortion wasnt good at all. The cleans, AMAZING though.

I'm expecting the FS neck to be a lot like the Jazz neck but not distortion shy.

What's the DC resistance on the AH?

Anyone every coil kill the FS neck?

I have the wiring setup for parallel so it would save me some time to know if I should parallel park it or split it.

I didn't "coil kill" (hahaha I like that interpretation of coil cut) my FS neck, but I did this:

Not quite the same effect, but it sounded great for clean stuff.

I had a Holdsworth bridge for a while. It reminded me of a JB derivative. The neck version sounded similar to a 59n.

Huh ... I didn't know there was a neck version of the Holdsworth.

                      That's wildly interesting.

I should come here more often 'cause I always get inovative ideas .... or get into a scrap as to whether a JB is bright or not
