  • how to wire pickup in parallel?

alright im take notice from paul gilbert in his early days when he used to wire all his humbucker pickups in paralel for a cleaner tone. im looking at at the wiring diagrams that comes with the pickups and it's of no use. the guitar i want to do it to has no pickup switch so i just want it to be parallel all teh time rather than having teh choice to make it parallel or not with a switch.,

it's a 59 trembucker, so just tell me whihc wires to solder on or off.

    thanks, Jim

Just do black and red soldered together for "hot".

And green and white soldered together for "ground".

Well, yeah. The braided ground wire thats connected to the base plate is always ground. That doesn't really affect sound, its just a noise shield - sorta.

          okay

i did it and noticed a big improvement in tone!!!!!!
very clear, which is the tone i like. i dont like mushy, compressed tones. i glad i did this, i think i might do it to my others now!!

          thanks alot

You're welcome. You know, I've never tried the parallel wiring on a single humbucker. If you say it sounds that good, I'll have to give it a try on one of mine.
