  • A2pro/Jazz/Pearly gates ?

I want a clear (not boomy) neck pup, thats still able to sound nice and full.

Going in a Mahog/maple top strat, maple/rosewood board neck, hardtail

I've used a Jazz in a similarly constructed guitar and it was very clear sounding which i liked, just wondering how those pups compare to it.

A2 pro sounds good as well

    Suggest anything else as well.

A good clean sound is a MUST with my neck pup. also it has to sound half decent split

I love the PG in my LP and the APH at the neck of my Carvin. The APH is a bit smoother in the highs and has a less pronounced mid range. It's a very balanced pickup. The PG is a touch brighter, has a more muscular midrange, and enough low end to be fat, but not boomy. They both sound very good split at the neck, but my personal preference is for the PG.
    Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.
