    which seymour duncan would you say was closest in tone to a rio grande BBQ? thanks scott

    I think the custom would be closest, or maybe a C5.

    But what´s the point to buy something just to get in ballpark of something else?
    Just get the bbq!
    Or are you looking for somesthing slightley diffrent then the bbq?

        None of them really. The C5 has a bass response similar to the BBQ, but it has a little more output, much less midrange, and more highs. The JB has the midrange of the BBQ, but it has more treble, less bass, and a lot more output. If you want that tone, you'll need to get a BBQ, there really is no Duncan equivalent.
