  • Jazz bass pickups for rock\blues\metal

    Hi all,
Welcome the newbie to the board
    This probably been covered but,
Anyways, i just bought a J-bass and want to replace the pups for the 1/4 lb. SBJ-3?. I have been reading around and see that alot of peeps favor these for a rockish style. I like a deep but clean sound for playing Rock\Blues or Metal. Would this be a good candidate? I have read a little about the Hotstacks, but haven't seen any feedback about them for Rock\Metal|Blues applications, or i have overlooked it.

    Any info appreciated,

    Peace~

WELCOME TO THE FORUM BROTHER!! lol

I don't know too much about that pickup, but Mark Hoppus of Blink 182 uses a QP, so surely it's good for those styles.

the qp is a great rock pup. the have a nice top end that cuts thru without being overly bright and they growl soooo nicely
