CC/PG in mahogany or basswood strat?

  • CC/PG in mahogany or basswood strat?

    Both pups have a lot of mids and I like that, but I want it too be a bit more bassy than in an ash strat. Will mahogany make it sound muddy at all?
    Ibanez RG1570: stock
    Squier Strat: stock

    Next on the list: an amp that isn't crap!

    If you need bass and are afraid of the "mud" perhaps you should look into a 59/C5 combination?

      Try it.

      If you don't like it you can always try a magnet mod on those pickups. Both of the pickups (my CC/PG set) has a3 magnets.

        I love the C-5 bridge but the 59 neck in my opinion is too muddy.......maybe a PGn?
