  • People I need your help

I have Squier Standard Stratocaster, rosewood, aghatis body. I don't care which brand of pu's i would put in my guitar (SD, DiMarzio, EMG...), i just want to get a good sound. I want some fat, strong crunch (like my friend say "wall crushing distortion") but not "sterile" more like Van Halen for ex. Great Palm mutes, strong power chordes (but with definition), easy a. harmonics and legato play and tapping. I am playing strat only because i love the neck, so i want to get some good hard & heavy from it. I would put stacked hum's in the guitar. I have done some resarch over the net...maybe pait of Hot Rails or Fast Track 2 and Pro Track (also i am not using middle pu, only bridge and neck). I am using MXR 104 Dist + & MXR 109 6-Band EQ in Solid State Marshall Amp. If anyone has some idea please tell me. Thanks!

The side by side hot rails in the bridge with a LIL59 in the neck is cool or you could put a cool rails in the neck?

Are you wanting switching options,or are you pretty much wanting just full output humbucker tones?

No, no switching options, just strainght series wiring pu's and thats it. You think that Hot Rails and lil59 would do the trick? You think that lil59 would be better in the neck then HR for Hard & Heavy?

I like the CR/VR/Hr combo in strats. It's very versatile, gets great OD and good clean tones, and looks killer with 3 rail type pickups.
        Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.

Thanks guys. I think that i will take HR in the bridge & neck. Just on more question. Does it better to change vol pot to 500k or stick with 250k? Also i will disconnect tone controls because i don't use them.
