  • How do duncan livewires compare to EMG's?

I know this has been talked about before, but its always interesting

What are the differences between the duncan livewires (although we already know that the livewire metal pickup is just totally psycho!) and the main EMGs like the 81's and 85's etc?

I've got these laying around at the moment:

    EMG 60
    EMG 89
    SD Livewire Metal
    SD Livewire Classic

If I ever get chance to, I'll try dropping them into a guitar and recording some clips.

I'll see what I can do

I'm going on holiday tomorrow, so I'll try to do it when I get back. I need to find some 100k pots for the Livewires too, unless I just wire them straight to the output jack - may be a little brighter, but for comparison purposes it could be OK

Duncans tend to be hotter and they use two 9 volt batteries instead of one.
