Stag mag split on mahogany

Has anybody tried this pickup in split mode? Is it really like an strat?

I just happen to be waiting for this kind of setup to be finished. It may take some time, but I can let you know. I'm not really going for a Strat sound, but the split mode could resemble a Strat.
