  • Which humbucker sized p-90

Guys im looking to yet again replace the pickups in my sg standard. I'm wanting a real vintage P-90 sound. I know about the phat cat and am leaning towards it. But what about the bastard from rio grande or others. I'm looking for the best. I want it to sound as close as possible the the late 50's les paul junior. Thanks so much

I can't comment on the Rio Grandes, but I've tried the HD Z90's and didn't care for them. I do not believe they are "true" P90 designs. I have a set of Phat Cats from the Duncan Custom Shop that are the ****. I just love em. I'd like to try a set of production model PC's at some point and I'm betting I'll like them better since they are A2 magnets.

Mine are a Vintage Neck (A5) in the neck and a Custom neck (ceramic) in the bridge, one is rwrp. Same combo as what they put in PRS P90 gutars and Iv'e got these in my PRS Brazillian Limited Edition McCarty.
