hey,

i know about the single conductor and the scatter wound but does anyone happen to know how the output compares to the regular aph1? i read somewhere that they made a few different outputs and sent them to slash and he chose a certain one that he liked and now that's the one they wind for him whenever he wants that pickup. anyway, i was just wondering if there were any other things that were different about the pickup tone and output of these pickups.

well, i went ahead and bit the bullet and ordered a set of these pickups today. i can't wait until they get here. i ordered the black set but they are going to age them for me. i didn't know that they would age them for no upcharge. that's really cool. anyway, they said it'd take about 4 weeks to get them.

give us some of the details on the specs of these pups, did they give you any? I'm thinking of ordering a set soon as well, in double cream with covers.

The only details available are those that have been posted (single conductor, scatter wound, Slash specs). But as I said earlier, when mine arrive, I will go ahead and give em a good review and take some measurements :)

Re: Anybody have specs on the Slash Custom Shop?

the guy i talked to today at SD said that the custom shop slash pickups are basically just a more authentic aph-1. he said that slash had been using the aph1's but ask them if they could just make a better, more authentic/vintage aph1. he said that the custom shops had pretty much the same output as the stock aph1's. but, it's just the way that the custom shop makes these (scatter wound, ect) that give the pickups that extra magic to them.

i asked him how long they've been making these pickups and he said that they've made them for a long time, even back to the g'n'r days. i just figured that it was something new because i had never heard of these before. anybody have any idea about how long they've been offering these pickups to the general public?
