I have a set of PAF Pros in my FR MIA Strat right now and I loved them but after about 6 months of them I'm beginning to tire of them... I seem to be missing that brightness and natural snarl of the JB and Jazz neck for dirty sounds. Plus i found if I'm not careful the sound can get mushy real quick.

I'm going to go to Evolutions (had them when I had my Jem, GREAT stuff!) or a JB/Jazz set soon.

Yeah, but then again, you have to take into consideration all the gear he had, or was using . Can someone post a clip of THEM playing with the PAF Pro???

I put it in my Floyd Mohagony guitar and it did not sound as good as it did in my strat type guitar. The JB sounds hotter in this one

The paf pro is an awesome pickup in the RIGHT guitar, but in the wrong guitar it is not.

I've just refinished my Ibanez RG570. I also installed a set of paf pros for the sole reason of selling it as a JEM7BSB replica.

However, I'm not sure now if I want to sell itl There's something about the paf pro's and Japanese Ibanez RG/Jem combo that really works. I've owned 2 Jems back in the day with paf pro's. The pink and black one (not sure on the model names). They were great guitars.

I'm also thinking about the Air Zone and Breed in the bridge, just for ****es and giggles.

For 'the' paf pro tone, listen to DLR's 'Eat em' and smile', espeically 'Ladies night in Buffalo'. That record has a young and hungry Stevie Vai in top form before he became a pompous instrumentalists who uses high output pups .

the neck one is less output and crisper. definitely brighter than the bridge
it is a PAF PRO with more chunk and output.

I had a floral Jem back in the day and the best thing about it was the PAF Pros. I played that guitar until it was literally falling apart. If I ever get another Floyd Rose super-strat type guitar I will definitely put PAF Pros in it.

Re: I got my paf pro

Hey you guys, if you love the PAF pro you gotta try the breed neck model in the bridge spot!
it is a fatter/hotter PAF pro
goes great with a pro in the neck spot

Tech Talk: The Breed™ is a bit louder and fatter-sounding than the PAF Pro. As a neck pickup, it has more than enough power to balance with high-output bridge pickups: it will work with the Tone Zone®, Super Distortion® and Evolution® as well as The Breed™ bridge model.
In the bridge position, it has a very warm, hot PAF® tone--really smooth, with nice harmonics.

I had the PAF Pro and liked it a lot...I think I'm going to try it in another guitar of mine that needs a little more presence over the Super3 I'm using.
