Im not too worried anyway, its only $25, ill only be mad if i get it installed for $40 and it dont work good lol. Btw, sence its hard wired i only need to get:

    EMG-12B with Battery Clip Set
    Code:EMG-12B

and the 25K Volume controll right? what model code would that be you know?

Thats the only parts i can think of besides some batteries, anything im missing?(going to get cool volume knob too )

emg only started the quik-connect a few years ago. obviously this is a much older 81. what bothers me is the epoxy color. i have really old emgs (abt 12 yrs) and they all had black epoxy to seal the pup instead of orangey...

Will this be more then a regular pickup to have installed? and if the wires are too short cant they just extend them?

And if the "Pot" is my volume knob, then yea they would be just barely long enough, perfect lenght.

Also, the wires look very short, have you measured it up to see if it will reach your pot?

Nope, you can't wire it up like a passive pickup. EMGs use their own wiring, pots (25k) and output jack. You can usually order it up from EMG or an EMG dealer. They have them on ebay fairly regularly too.

Now, i talked to someone there and they said i need the install kit (new volume knob, battery pack, and an different jack that shuts off and turns on the pre-amp) or would it just wire up like a passive and work fine, or would that sound stupid, frogive my stupidity.
