Passive option for active bass

Can any of the active EQ's made by Duncan be wired this way?

Hypothetical bass:
stock P pickup, Classic Jazz Stack bridge, poplar body, standard bridge, 2 band active EQ

(well, that's actually my 1994 Fender P-Bass Special, but let's put in a new EQ, and the new Jazz pickup in the bridge)

The J-Retro Pre-amps made by John East have a feature that lets you go to passive mode. The problem is you lose you EQ capability if you do this. It's a nice save though if you battery goes dead in the middle of a set.

That's great, but any web links for that... ? Okay, I know, "Google it".

Anyone else have this done with a DUNCAN ACTIVE EQ and DUNCAN PICKUPS (like the one I pointed out in my first post)?

Steve Barr at Vintage Bass Trading is the USA distributer for the Retro's. Here's a link to his bass forum that has a lot of info on the various versions.

As for as modding the Duncan EQ circuits, I think the only option would be to bypass it completly with a switch and go directly from the pickup to the jack. No EQ, no volume control. It's all wired into a single circuit board.
