  • What kind of plating does SD use on its PUs?

    Hi:

I am hoping someone out there has the inside skinny on what kind of plating material Seymour Duncan uses on its silver-colored pickups.

The reason I am asking is I am doing a guitar upgrade and I want the hardware that I will buy to match the Seymour Duncan pickups I expect to get. I can order either nickel or chrome plated parts.

Since the music stores within a reasonable distance of me do not have much in the way of quality parts, I plan to order most of my stuff mail order or online. Because of this, I cannot compare the finish of the hardware to see if it matches the pickups.

If someone knows, I would appreciate an answer. Thanks.

I'm about 90% sure it's Nickel, but someone else should drop in and confirm in a bit.

You'd think I would know this, as I just ordered a set of covered hb's

    Welcome to the forum, btw.
