I have a tremspaced C-5 in my reverse metallic blueburst strat. I think it is better to have a trem version in a strat or Floyd guitar. I'm not sure how much the tone is different, but it looks more correct. My question for the dealers is, does the C-5
come in a neck version? I'm assuming it would have a little more output than a
59, but have a tighter bottom - great for low notes up on the fretboard.
If they don't have one, it's probably because few people want a neck pickup that's hotter than the 59.

I've got regular spaced C5's in two of my Floyd equipped guitars and don't have a problem with them. The difference will be negligble IMHO.

is there such a thing as a trem-spaced Custom 5? .. if so, is it production or customshop? .. and how much would one expect to pay for one (new)? ...

yeah, i am an idiot and didnt ask about a trem spaced model when i ordered mine last year ... the trem is blocked, so i just plain forgot it HAD a trem .. so i am thinking of swapping out the C5 in my avatar guitar for a trem spaced one so that it would be 'just right' .. while i am at it, i am thinking about swapping out the duck for a VR in the middle .. damn, this really is a sickness, isnt it
