  • Tele Antiquity pickup height.

Can ya'll give me some thoughts/starting places for setting pickup height?

I just put a new Warmoth maple boatneck on the thing and I'm sorting thru different setups, strings, pup heights, etc. trying to find the friggin'sweet spot.

Right now it's strung with a nickel set of .009's and the action's at 5/64 and 4/64. The fretboard's a flat 10-16 compound.

Ya'll always give me good advice and you've got more experience with these pickups than I do so your thoughts and opinions are much appreciated.

The pickups are flat pole Antiquity's. Love 'em.

i say start very high and just adjest down until you find the sweet spot. my neck pickup is higher than my bridge pickup but neither one is very far from the fret board. sorry i am too lazy to measure right now, but 5/64 seems just a bit closer than mine.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.

The string height at the 12th fret is 5/64 and 4/64.

The pickup height with the string fretted at the last fret is
Fender spec.............. 6/64 bass, 5/64 treble.

Everytime I change something up I go back to the book and the .009's are new to the equation.
