This isn't true at all. I can get VERY warm tones with the 60 in the neck of my Les Paul...both clean and distorted.

i run my EMG's straight through the amp... maybe an EQ will tame the 60... but i think its still muddy and too fat

60's sound great straight to the board through an ART Tube MP. Awesome, sparkling cleans with enough meat to play with authority.
