  • does anybody know the antiquity for tele magnet types????

concerning duncan tele BRIDGE pickups. I've had the duncan antiquity for tele flat pole and raised pole (55 style) pickups. they sound very different, and unlike most people i like the 55 style better. is the 55 alnico 5 and the flat pole alnico 2 (that's what it sounds like to me), and what about the anitquity II series, how do they differ????

I thought both Antiquity models were alnico II, and the Antiquity II is alnico 5.

I think Curly's right. I'm more of a fan of the Alnico 5 sound, and the new Ant. Surfers I put in my favorite strat sound better than anything I've heard in a strat.
The only word that comes to mind is 'perfect.'

i couldn't find anything on the duncan site saying which magnets were in the flat pole and 55 style. but 55 definitley sounds more A5 to me. considering what they are trying to replicate, i would certainly guess that the 60's style antiquity II was A5.
