Re: What does the switch do in an Esquire?
the front or what would be the neck position is the pickup with a tone cap which makes a big fat sound...the tone control does not work in this position, the middle position is the bridge pickup with out the tone cap and the tone control does work, the last position or what would be the bridge position it the bridge pickup with only the volume control...the tone control does not work here either. If you turn the tone control about half way down you get 3 very different tones by using the switch. If you just read a post by The Guy Who Invented Fire please understand that opinions change, mind sets change and as players our ears mature...not to mention our needs grow and change. With that in mind, today I may or may not agree with the post you just read!
