Re: SH-6 and TB-12 Hum!!! HELP!!!
I went to the tech friday and everything was allright!!! So I thought that my saturday's gig will be THE ultimate test...
Everything was find at my gig... No Hum, so I think that's the place where I play...
Except during the soundcheck I was freakin' out, because Radio was playing in my amp!!! I tought that was my pickups again!!!
Then the second band to soundcheck came on stage and the radio was also playing in the guy's amp... I then realised that was normal (not at all) for this venue...
When the show began no buzz, radio, hum, or whatever **** you don't want...
So I think that my pickups are allright, it's juste the environement in which I play...
Thanx to all of those who helped me!!!
See ya!!!

Re: SH-6 and TB-12 Hum!!! HELP!!!
I went and talked with the guy who did the job...
He plugged it and nor more Hum... I think that's the place where I play that has a lot of frequencies...
Anyway, I have a Gig on Saturday, Novembre 6th, so I will play in another environment, then I will see...
If the things doesn't hum, that will be definitively the place where I rehearse...
I will update you next week!!!
Thanx again guys!!!

Re: SH-6 and TB-12 Hum!!! HELP!!!
not so difficult.....
i'll give u the tips, but these are too techically....
just check :
1. Green and Barre cord from the PUP is soldering well to the ground (back side pf the POT)
2. recheck (or resoldering) the connection beetwen POT-Switch and POT-Jack connector.
3. recheck (or resoldering) the connection beetwen the Black wire of PUP to switch
4. Recheck (or resoldering) the connection beetwen the spring block wire to ground.
just try it.
good luck

Re: SH-6 and TB-12 Hum!!! HELP!!!
Thanks man!!! But like I said, maybe it's because of my Noise gate...
I'll try to fix the grounds and then see the results!!!

Re: SH-6 and TB-12 Hum!!! HELP!!!
If you sa ythe noise went away when you touched the strings , then it sounds like you have a ground problem in the guitar, normally the small amount of noise that is normal does go away when you touch the strings and ground them.
Plus the Screamin Demon isn't that much of a high output pickup from what I remember. You could try putting some copper sheilding tape in the control cavity.
Jay, beleive me when I say that it isn't hard to put pickups in. I have saved myself about 500.00 just by putting in pickups myself. The hardest part to get down is good soldering technique and at worst you still have sound with a bad solder job(but you shouldn't do it and leave it without fixing a bad solder joint)
I found that the only thing you can really mess up is the volume pots by overheating them and they are only a couple bucks. Hope this helps.

Re: SH-6 and TB-12 Hum!!! HELP!!!
Yes, those guys are inspiring me a lot!!! Edguy and Avantasia kill and Gamma Ray too!!!
I plugged my guitar in another amp and the hum was still there...
But...
The Amp was in the same environment so it's not really accurate...

Re: SH-6 and TB-12 Hum!!! HELP!!!
Hmm, maybe it depends on the amp setings. If you could try another guitar, then you could know if this is it. Or if you try your guitar at another amp.
PS:
Nice website. You seem to have some inspirations which i also had, or i already met!
Kai Hansen is a very friendly and funny guy.
Also Tobias Sammet. I once aksed him, where he has the time for so much projects, and then he saied "these are my 4 brothers which make this for me"..Last edited by Inge Malmstein; 11-04-2004, 02:54 PM.

Re: SH-6 and TB-12 Hum!!! HELP!!!
I think a pic could bring some clarity.
By the way: Do you use a Distortion neck version? (Has nothing to do with your problem, just curiosity :-)
PS What means NG?

Re: SH-6 and TB-12 Hum!!! HELP!!!
I realised that when I touched the strings, the hum disappears but the point is that I have a NG... so maybe it's because of it...
Maybe I should record the Hum and send it to you... or like you say, I will open it and take a picture...

Re: SH-6 and TB-12 Hum!!! HELP!!!
Maybe you could made a photo and post it here?
Do you have a multi-meter? You could measure the values of the pickups, each coils,
the contacts (if everything is grounded)
It is not that difficult how it sounds.
Does the hum disappear if you touch the strings, or the guitar?

Re: SH-6 and TB-12 Hum!!! HELP!!!
Thanx for the tips but the problem, is that I'm not the kind of guy that have all the tools to do it...
If I return to the guy he will tell me that everything's all right!!!
THAT'S NOT WHAT I WANT TO EAR!!! I WANT MY ****ING PICKUPS FIXED!!!
Maybe I should find an other craftman??? And ask him to look at it...
