What do you guys like better about the '59 over the PG?

The 59 cleans up nicely.. Isnt gonna be a pristine clean as a jazz, but has a great deal of warmth to it.
Believe me when I say that some of the most amazing music in history was made on equipment that's not as good as what you own right now.

demon, at 10K it has a perfect amount of output at the neck for a 14K bucker at the bridge and will sound better split

yeah i still cannot believe players do not realize it is not just for the bridge spot
cause that is where it is recomended by the maker
RECOMENDED is the key word not a RULE
I have tried many so called bridge pups in the neck and vise versa with great results
for instance many use a JB in the neck spot and that is at 16.4K

Sounds like you are trying to talk me into the Custom/SD combination?

I find myself setting the pickups close because I like a thick and fat tone....maybe having something fat and focused like the Custom will alow me to keep it a tad lower like the BBQ.

the air zone is also great for that,it sound fine close or far from the strings.
the custom on the other hand sounds best a bit further from the strings due to the ceramic magnet, the AZ uses a 5 with a air design which is like a weak 5

BTW the AZ is the fattest toned along with great clarity

Custom Shop Deco 2 10k is a superb pickup and great match for a C5.

I would change the pickup just to see the way it sounds in the guitar. You allways can come back. But if you aren't curious about it and you like the sound of the BB, why change it?

I knoe this sounds way lame but my BB Pro neck is covered and the C-5 bridge is open coil so something keeps promting me to want to swap around.

Now I am going to have a covered BB Pro bridge and open 59 in my Dean.
