I'd go with a Vintage Rails in the middle for the more traditional strat sounds, and a Cool Rails in the neck, for a smooth, fat lead sound from the neck when using distortion.
    Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.

My shred guitar has a Hot Rails in the neck and Cool Rails in the middle. I had a Cool Rails in the neck but I couldn't get a searing lead tone like I can with the Hot Rails.
