Phat Cat RW/RP question

Hello folks,
I've been away for a few weeks but now I'm back with a question.

I have this guitar routed for the HSH setup. I want to use a Phat Cat in the neck, an APS-2 in the middle and a TB-5 in the bridge. I want the neck + mid combo to be humcancelling. I assume I have to order the middle pickup (the Alnico II Pro single-coil with flat polepieces) spec'ed as RW/RP. Is this true?

My Phat Cat neck pup is RWRP with my JD Tele lead pup, so it may turn out that you want a standard APS-2 rather than an RWRP one. However, there should be someone with more knowledge out there to answer your question -- contact SD by email or phone if all else fails.

I don't think so. I beleive that the neck PC is already RW/RP as it cancels hum shen I use it together with the bridge unit.

Thanks. But for some reason I believe that the single-coil neck pups for guitars with 2 pups are "standard" whereas the bridge units are "RW/RP". I don't remember how I got to believe this, maybe because I figured it out like this:
I have a Five-Two Tele set in my Tele. The neck pup has a white lead wire and a black ground wire, and the bridge pup has a yellow hot wire and a black ground wire. The pair is hum-cancelling when used together.
I have a SSL-1n and an Alnico 2 Pro Tele Lead. The SSL-1 has one white lead wire and a black ground wire, and the APTL has a yellow hot wire and a black ground wire. They are humcancelling when used together.

I'm not exactly sure why but this makes me believe that the pups with the white hot lead are "standard" whereas those with the yellow hot lead are "RW/RP".

I may be completely wrong though.

Now I remember that DiMarzio differentiates their RW/RP single-coils with a lead wire that's red instead of white. They use the RW/RP singles for example on the JEM guitars. The "2" and "4" positions of the 5-way switch selects the slug coil of the respective HB together with the mid-position single-coil, and it's humcancelling. Now I tried a crazy wiring using the APTL in the middle and the APH-1n and APH-1b in their respective positions with the same coil-split feature in positions "2" and "4". If I remember well, it worked this way, which made me think that for dual-pickup guitars, it's the bridge pup that's "RW/RP" while the neck pup is "standard".

I hope someone can still understand it :/

Phat Cat Neck, Regular APS-2 (no RW/RP), and TB-5 wired standard {black hot, green ground, and white & red together ... this go to ground for splitting purposes when combined with the middle pup}.
Positions 2 & 4 will be hum cancelling.
This middle own't be a RW/RP ...
Phat Cat Neck ... is TL/TG North ... the bridge version is TL/TC South.
Standard singles are TL/TC South ... RW/RP are TL/TG North ...Antiquities would be the opposite of those two exactly.
The slug coil of the TB-5 will be active in the split, if you wanted the screw coil active and to humcancel, then your only choice would be to flip the magnet in the TB-5 and use green as hot, black as ground, and red and white together and to ground in the split.

To further complicate matters ... If you wanted you could use a phat cat *bridge* in the neck if desired, then you would you a RW/RP APS-2 in the middle, and then adjust the TB-5 accordingly as well ... I'm out of ephedrine and coffee ... so that will have to wait ...

Actually, I was going for the men in black/alien lifeform thing, but yeah ... I couldn't quite remember how that line went in the Walrus or men in black ...
I thing I combined them ... nice catch ...
