  • Gotta Quick Question

    Hi everyone.

I am wiring a guitar and got the schematcis for my work and my question is; When you connect the wires to the pot terminal do you insert the wire in the hole and wrap it around or how do you connect the wire to the terminal?

    Re: Gotta Quick Question

Pre-tin the wire, insert into solder lug hole, and solder ... do not ever wrap any connection ... you'll regret it later when you have to change it. If your not familiar with soldering stop by your local electronics shop (or radio shack) and get a basic starters kit with tools and instructions.

Could we please have everything louder than everything else ? ...

        Re: Gotta Quick Question

I have just wired the guitar and When i plugged it in the amp it buzzes a bit and thee is no change in volume, when I increase or decrease the setting with the volume knob. Could the solder joints be bad? or the pickup?

Could be, but I'd suspect an error in the wiring job itself first (done correctly or not as to the proper connections run to the proper places). Double check your work, for a volume control to have no effect it means you somehow bypassed it completely.
