Re: 5 Way Switching Replacement PU's

For the bridge, I'd recommend either a JB (SH-4) or Distortion (SH-6). I have no experience with it, but the Custom (SH-5) would probably suffice, as well. If your guitar has a tremelo, you need the tremspaced models of these (replace the SH with a TB, ie the JB is a TB-4).

I'm new to single coils, as well, but Hot Rails would probably do the job.

    5 Way Switching Replacement PU's

    Hi everyone,

This is my first post so be gentle

I am trying to understand how to go about selecting replacement PU's for my Ibanez SA series fiddle. This guitar is a 5 way switching system with crappy stock PU's.....single neck....single middle....and humbucking bridge.

I enjoy playing mostly classic rock (AC/DC) and heavy rock (Ozzy & Metallica). First off.....what do I need to be concerned about when chosing the PU's (I have no experience with this and don't know what will / will not fit in my axe)?

Secondly....for my style can anyone recommend some good replacements?

I plan on having these professionally installed but I obviously need to make the purchase.

    Thanks for all your help!
