  • QP calibrated strat set. What pots to use?

Got a calibrated set of SSL-4 (flat QPs) for my Fender Deluxe strat (I'm tired of dealing with the Vintage Noiseless POSs. They are the dullest, most lifeless pickups I have ever heard in a strat. Worse than the Lace Sensors they used to put in the Strat Plus's a few years ago, and that's saying somethin!).

I wanted a more powerful rock sound out of this guitar (alder body, rosewood fretboard), and I've always like Blackmore's tone, so I think I'm in the ballpark here.

I wouldn't describe this guitar a being overly bright acoustically, I think balanced is a fair description.

I want to know If I should start out with 250K pots of move right up to 500K. 500K vol and 250K tones? What do you guys think? I'm lazy and I want to get it right the first time.

    Welcome to the forum!

I usually go with 250k pots with strat and tele type singles.
    Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.

yup, i usually use 250k, but mine are also in brighter ash body guitars. id try the 250 and if you need more then put the 500k volume in as you suggested

        Thanks for the advice.

I'll go with the 250Ks and let you all hear the results.
