I play punk rock too, and I was having the hardest time finding a pup I liked (I play stuff like Zeke, REO Speedealer, Dwarves, and Electric Frankenstein). Tried the Invader and that was the worst, bought a DiMarzio Super Distortion and it's amazing. I also had a Screamin' Demon in my other guitar and it's a nice pup as well.

Is their any other seymour duncan that would sound decent in an ibanez
I play a JB in my RG550, never played a better pu for melodic punk/hardcore.
Doesn't sound bluesy under highgain and makes the RG a decent guitar for this style imo...
i think there's wired something wired wrong or your amp sucks!

Cool! I just put a JB and Jazz in a Les Paul Studio last night and it sounds tremendous...as usual. Great single coil tones too.

What a pain working on that LP Studio though...

do what davey said if you haven't yet bring the pickup as close as you can to the strings. The closer the better the JB will sound. If it's an RG you'll probably want to change out the pots to 250k. I wasn't a fan of my JB with the 500k pots that my Rg came with. I changed out all of the electronics because they are pretty much junk.

    Good luck

another one converted to the godlyness that is the JB

now, put the pup as close to the strings as you can when you fret the last fret. put it a tad lower so when you do a death dive the strings dont get caught up in the thing and you got an amazing pickup

    this is yer axe?

    go here http://www.ibanez.com/wiring/models.asp?t=e
it has all ibanez RG wiring, all you have to do is make sure to use the JB's black wire to hot and white/red go together and get taped back or if you have a switch that allows for coil taps it goes to the lug on the switch, and the green and bare go to the top of the pot(ground)

    try this one:
Hand-crafted electric guitar pickups, acoustic guitar pickups, bass pickups and pedals. Helping musicians find their signature sound since 1976.

but as far as i know the ibanez switch looks a little bit diferent than that

(it is a double humbucker guitar right?)
