Quick question, hope you can help--

In 1992 I had a 68 Epiphone Casino restored and the guy put in two Duncans. The only identifying marks on the pickup are the SD logo imprinted into the bottom of the pickup and a small sticker with JBJ on it. Anyone know what pickups these are?

What you have there is a JB pickup wound by someone with the initial "J". Most likely Marciella Juarez, or "MJ", who has been with Duncan forever, much like Abigail Ybarra over at Fender.

Did he put a JB in both positions, or is there another mark on the neck pickup?

Sorry for checking in so late--Yes, he put the same pickup in the neck position. I know that's considered too hot for a neck pickup but in the bridge, it sounds great through my amp (60 watt Crate Blue Voodoo). I also have the Brian May special VBM-1 and this is the ONLY guitar that can replicate Brian's sound. I must have tried about ten different guitars.

a jb in the neck isnt the most orthodox choice but ive had really good success with it as well

I have a custom made Tele thinline. It has a Jazz in the Neck and a 59 in the bridge. I have push/pull pots as well so it kind of sounds Teleish(is that a word?) but it also sounds a lot like a 335. Quite versatile
