  • Seymour Duncans And Ibanez

Ok, I've been mulling over which pickups to get put in my Ibanez RG570 for a while now and have come up with the following:

    Bridge: Seymour Duncan TB-6
    Middle: SS1 or JB Jr
    Neck: Seymour Duncan '59

Does anyone have experience with this set up?

What would you guys recommend I have put in the middle?

Could somone post what the SD wiring, in relation to Ibanez wiring, is?

    Cheers!

Thrash (Kreator, Exodus, Testament, Xentrix etc etc).

      I tune to D too.

Definitely get a hum cancelling single for the middle. Nothing worse than clicking from a 'bucker to a noisy-ass single

Your setup looks pretty good, although lots of people on here claim the Jazz is better for thrash than the '59. Less boomy, from what I've heard.

I've got an RG570 that I've had a DiMarzio Evolution, a JB, a Distortion & an Invader in the bridge. The only one I disliked was the Evo, but I don't use any processing. To my ears, DiMarzios are lacking in a guitar/cable/amp setup.

Well, I love the Distortion in my Jackson and I think I am just going to go for the '59. I checked out the tone wizard and it agree'd with my choice and recommended either the SS1 or the JB Jr for the middle.

What other choices do I have for the middle?

well... presumably you have the choice of anything hum cancelling.. maybe a mini bucker like the lil' demon to go between that 59 and DD

The little Demon is NOT a Mini. The SM-1 and all Firebird/LP Deluxe type pickups are mini's.

I'm waiting for Evan to chime in about how cool it would be if Ibanez guitars came standard with SD pups.
