How do u install Pickups on an Epi LP?

Hi, I just recently bought 2 '59s for my Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plus and I have no idea what to do, I opened up the guitar and the pickups are now hanging from their yellow and red wires. My Duncan's have '"enameled wire?" and I'm confused about what to solder. Do I cut the red wire and solder it to the red wire or do I have to completely remove the red wire and wire the duncan wire? Sorry, this is my first time ever installing a pickup and Im lost
