I am about to have MJ rewind a set of pickups for me. They are presently CS Slash specs(I have about 8 sets of them in my various Historic Les Pauls). I want a little variety so I am having the bridge rewound to a JB Prototype with the A2 magnet. I am considering going with a Pearly Gates neck with a slight overwind(about 7.65K). All thoughts on the JB /PG combo in a Les Paul(maple top and mahoghany body, rosewood fingerboard) are welcome and needed!

Come on I know some of you have tried this combo. Please give me some ideas of tone, especially through a Marshall or equal style amp for Slash, Beck, Moore styles. Please!!! -

I LOVE the PG neck pickup...in fact it is my favorite neck humbucker, I also have heard good things about a JB with an alnico II magnet...should be a good combo...If you just read a post by The Guy Who Invented Fire please understand that opinions change, mind sets change and as players our ears mature...not to mention our needs grow and change. With that in mind, today I may or may not agree with the post you just read!
