I have a Fender Mohagany body fat strat. I put a JB in the bridge, a cool rail in the neck and a vintange rail in the middle position. I have been playing this set up about 4 weeks. It always seemed that the notes had very bad clarity when played with distortion in the bridge postion. Just for fun I buried the middle pickup and now I have a lot more claity. Can a middle pickup effect the sound of the other two pick ups, even when it is not switched on? By the way the middle pick up was installed about the same height as the neck pick up before I lowered it.
