  • Need New Bridge Pick-up for strat - Help Please

I havea standard Fender Strat with a AlnicoII Pro Neck and a Vintage Staggared middle pick-up.
I need a new Bridge single coil pick-up.
I am considering the SSL-3 Hot, the SSL-7 Quater Pounder staggered, and the SSL-5 Custom Staggered.
They all appear to have about the same output, just different EQ's...
I play hard rock, blues, and Hendrix type stuff....
I want to replace my bridge pick-up I just can't choose between these 3.
Thanks in advance for your help

let me confuse things even more by recommending the twangbanger. i used to use the custom for strat with my alnico 2 pros then i tried a twangbanger. bigger warmer tone with similar output, great clean, killer dirty tone.
the qp is also great and has more output and a darker overall tone, better for hard rock but not as versitle

hey, thanks jeremy, Quarterpounder sounds good, what about the hot or the custom?

I've recommended the Hot several times

sounds great, and still gives you a decent notch tone

I especially like it for crunch chords with a little tone rolled off

I find the description accurate - lots of mids, and output rivaling a humbucker

I have a few clips on my site

Thanks Curly, I'll check out those clips. I bought the other 2 pick-ups on your reccomendations, so I know you're a knowledgable guy.

            Kac,
well, I agree with jeremy too, as far as the Twangbanger, and I have one in a strat

I haven't tried the QP, but I'm sure that would work, and some have used a tapped version in the bridge too

I think the idea for some of us is to find a hotter version in the bridge - which particular one is a matter of personal taste, and using something that will work well with the other 2 pickups

Thanks a lot for the help Curly,
              Here's a more specific question:
Which of those 3 pick-ups would work best for playing Iron Maiden.
I realize pick-ups like the hot-rails would be better, but I'm just considering these 3 that I listed in the first post.
              Thanks
