Dimebucker wires diff color than old PU's I'm replacing

I am replacing an old stock Epiphone bridge pickup that has black/white/red/blue wires with a Dimebucker that has black/white/red/green wires.

The Epiphone bridge pu's white/black are together on one phase switch, while the red and the blue are on another phase switch- just on opposite sides.

Is the Dime's green wire the same as the Epi's blue?

The guitar is a Epiphone Rich Bich model that has 2 humbuckers, 3-way pu selector switch, 1 volume knob, 1 tone knob, 2 phase switches, 1 9/v pre-amp switch.

im not sure how the wire colors match up. the guitar you have is an epiphone rich bich? thats not a model im familiar with, ive seen bc rich ***** models
im also not sure why there would be two phase switches. what happens when you flip each of the switches?

Hi, thanks for the welcome!

It is an old-twenty years ago-$200-one piece Epiphone Rich Bich style guitar that was designed as a shred guitar I guess, since it has a 9-volt battery to really make it scream. It also has two other switches that makes it seem out-of-phase sounding- kind of hollow/jangley sound. One phase switch is for the neck pu, the other for the bridge.

The wiring is complicated for such a cheapo guitar and that is why I'm having trouble.

The black and white wires from the neck pu go to the #1 phase switch, red to the 3-way pu selector, blue to the back of the volume knob.

The bridge pu's black and white wires go to the #1 phase switch, the red and blue go to the #2 phase switch.

I'm guessiing that the Dime's green is the same as the Epi's blue?

ok to me it sounds like the #1 switch is a coil split for both pups. try this, put the neck pup on when you flip the switch does the tone get brighter? try the same on the bridge pup, does it get thinner as well? what happens to the tone with both pups on switch up and switch down?

I believe Jeremy is correct and switch #1 is a coil split switch for both pickups. I have a feeling the #2 switch is indeed a phase switch for the bridge pickup because it utilizes both the hot and ground leads but it doesn't use the coil link wires, ruling series/parallel out.

You really can't hurt a passive pickup by messing up the wiring and I'm fairly positive about the codes.

Yes, with switch #1 in the up position-towards the top of the guitar-, each PU by itself sounds hollow and chime-like, switch down opens them up as almost double the sound- fat/full and bell-like. With both Pu's on and the switch up it sounds quiet/hollow, switch down sound real nasaly, like a country song is going to break out. lol
