Decided to splurge a bit and get some new pickups.
1) SM-1 Vintage mini-humbucker. I've come to the conclusion that I just don't care much for Telecaster neck pickups. I LOVE the sound of the SD Mini-HB in the 52 Hot Rod, so why not make a hot rod of my own? It's going into my ash American Standard which currently has the Fender CS Nocaster set in it. Bridge pickup is great, and I think the Mini-HB and it will get along well. Also ordered a custom pickguard from Warmoth to accommodate the SM-1 when it arrives.
2) Woody-XL acoustic pickup. I'm going to be playing my acoustic live pretty soon, so I figure it was time to get something better than the old Don Lace pickup that I've got. I would have loved to get the SD mag-mic pickup, but holy smoke is it expensive! Hoping the Woody XL is a decent compromise.
