Hi all, im a newbie and Just picked up a ESP MH-330 with active esp pickups, which i would like to replace as they just sound compressed and lack clarity given this is a budget oriented guitar. The guitar has a rosewood fretboard with mahogany body and bolt on neck.
My gear is a JCM900 Marshall amp and i play stuff from Satriani, Moore to Metallica and other hard rock. I value "voicing" for lack of a better description in that i love how Moore and Satriani get such a nice singing sound with good clarity. So I was curious to hear from you guys as to what humbucker pairing you recommend. I also plan to get a pedal box such as a tube screamer or TC electronics NDR-1 and was curious if this makes sense or should i just get a hotter humbucker to avoid using a external pedal box.
