Iam thinking of the spec's settings #2 me too. But Warmoth doesn't have the Vintage for Strat Flat RWRP (SSL-2 RW/RP). Next week i am going to my local store to see. In between i will call SD for the 3 pu specs..

The different kinds of poolepieces (slugs, screws, hex etc) do sound quite different. Fact.

John, you can always buy the pickup you want (SSL-2 flat) and have Seymour Duncan set the polarity to North for you.
