Hey guys haven't been on in awhile. So I have this old Ibanez. It is an EX model from '90-'91, basically a Korean made RG before they made Korean RGs. Had the hb-102 set kicking around and put them in just because they were there. The neck (jazz copy) was great the bridge (jb) was terrible. Serious upper mid spike. Tried my first mag swap using the stock ibanez mags. Ceramic neck, double thick ceramic at the bridge. Smoothed out the eq but very sterile. Today put the stock pups back in with the A5 mags. Perfect!! Nice mids for cut at the bridge without being harsh, neck is smooth with just a bit of bite. Now the questions.
Is A5 normally brighter than ceramic? Because that's what I am experiencing.
The stock Ibanez pickups have 3 wires. Red, white and ground. Does that open up any funky wiring options for like a tap or anything?
