  • Squier Bronco Bass pickup replacement

I just bought a squier Bronco bass, the bass is cool, However the pickup is a piece of poo - 6 pole pieces are just visible under the cover, so it's just a strat p.u. It sounds pretty watery. I'd like to have a full and warm bass sound, without having too much changement to make in the bass.. H_E_L_P !!
    thanx

I've heard good things about the Duncan Cool Rails for strat when used in a Musicmaster bass. You might want to give it a shot in your Bronco.
    Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.

I was going to say the same thing, the hot rails would be overkill in a bass for sure unless you wired it in parallel and then it's going to be brighter, but that's not necessarily a bad thing considering it lacks treble and has a tonof mids. The blade design helps to give you a more linear response and obviously allow for various string spacings and number of strings.

thanx.. a rails could be a solution yes..I found this thread, where the guy put on hot rails on his bronco... But maybe a vintage rails will be better, even if I'd look to have a big full bass and warm sound, noo too trebly...
