  • Gibson's PAF?????

I have a humbucker that has a black "Patent Applied For" sticker on the bottom; however, the pick-up itself does not have any Gibson logo on it.

The wires are just like Gibson's pick-up with the steel mesh-like look.

I got this installed on my 1985 vintage Randy Rhoads model. It's been in there since the day I bought it.

    Any information appriciated.

    Thank you

Go to the Les Paul Forum and look in the technical area (don't remember the exact name of the section). There's an excellent step-by-step menu for telling whether a pup is an actual PAF. It includes close up pics of the areas they're pointing out. www.lespaulforum.com. If yours is the real deal, you're very lucky. That pup could easily go for a few thousand in todays market. If it's a double white, even more. Insane, but true.
