  • Single Coils for Kramer Classic 1

Hey Guys! I need some help! It's looking like My Kramer project is going to get finished alot sooner than what I expected! So I need some S/C advice.....I'm mainly a bucker dood and when I do use single coils, they are normally Bill Lawrence. But I'm ready for a change...I want to keep it stock appearance wise so no lil buckers or rails...Just good ol single coil pickups!

I would really like it to do the 70's rock, and some raunchy blues stuff. I've listened to the sound clips and look at the stats, but I want some real world advice!

If you want the best, go with a set of Duncan Surfers/Antiquity II.

Well a bunch of APS-1's never sounded bad in a Kramer
      Will suit the Floyd fine.
      And what a nice guitar!

I think I will go with the APSs in the neck and middle....I want something a little hotter in the bridge...

Maybe a 5/2 or a twangbanger....I'm worried about the Floyd taking out some of the low end and making the tone thin...

Do you have the org Floyd for it??
The trick with bridgesingle is just to use your volumeknob, turn it down slightly and let the amp do the work, because that way you roll off the piercing highend of the pickup.
I have done that for a long long time now, on both strats with floyds and without.
It is better to turn it down than using a tonecontrol on it, it still has the bite and body when rolled off slightly on the volume, but a Twangerbanger sounds like a cool option,
that way you have slightly more meat than the average bridgesingle coil.

I don't have the floyd yet, the body and neck are NOS from the firesale...I'm buying a focus 3000 that I'm going to use the floyd and some other misc parts of..I've already got plans for the extra neck so it might turn out I end up with 2 guitars in the near future!
