Does this configuration make sense?

Hi everyone. I'm new here and very thankful that I've discovered this message board.

So here's my problem. I have a 3 year old American Tele. I just bought a "lil 59" for the bridge, and discovered there's more than one way to wire it up.

Does this make sense: Wire the Lil 59 parallel, but put in a toggle switch to switch one the pickups (one of the 2 pickups in the humbucker) out of phase?

So, position:
1. bridge parallel humbucker
1B. Flip phase switch and maybe get that position 2 strat sound?
2. In phase, both the bridge and neck pickup
2.B. Flip phase switch and maybe get that position 4 strat sound?
3. just Neck, nothing but neck

Will this work, will it sound good, and lastly, if the answer is yes, then
HOW DO I DO IT?

First, if you're going to have only one humbucker setting at the bridge, make it series. Especially with a lil 59. A parallel wiring would be very thin sounding.

Second, you can use a 3 position to be series-parallel-single on the lil 59, or series-north coil-south coil. Both are decent choices, depending on what you want.

I'm not sure of the difference between your sounds 1B and 2B. They will be indistinguishable or close to it, so I'd only pick one.

I'd say a 3 position toggle on the bucker combined with the diagram below would give you all you'd possibly want from this guitar...

You might consider using a 5-way Strat switch. It would eliminate the need for a toggle. I'm not sure exactly how you would wire it, but the schematics on the SD site might help. You may also need to consider a Strat Super-Switch to get all the options you want

If I understood corectly you have two humbuckers in the guitar, neck and bridge.

Single coil sized humbuckers aren't famous for their tone when wired in parallel or split. So may be the best option it is to look for the standard series wirings. I as a recomendation you could stick with the series wiring in both neck a bridge humbucker as a first try. Then, if you feal like experimenting, use a switch to wire one of the coils of the bridge humbucker in series with one of the coils of the neck humbucker. Thoose tones are great!! At least for me...

But this is just a recomendation, just try whatever you think it would suit you.

I'm also wondering if I really need so many options. I can see that this pickup thing is definitely a "try it and see if you like it" thing. But I gotta start somewhere.
