Re: what do i do? new pups
I think the opportunities for major screwups are somewhat limited, so why not try it yourself? That's what I did a long time ago.
Soldering isn't that hard, IMHO. (Well at least on the level you need for a guitar)

Re: what do i do? new pups
Just do a google search for "soldering" there a some decent tutorials that come right up... Though what i would like to add is...
Get a soldering iron thats between 25-40 watts... dont go bigger than that...
Make sure and get rosin core solder... stay away from acid core for electrical work... I also like to have some solder wick on hand its not necessary but if you make a mistake it can help remove the solder...
Then find a broken appliance around the house that you can sacrifice to the solder gods and make some practices runs with..."It keeps you fit - the alcohol, nasty women, sweat on stage, bad food - it's all very good for you." -Bon Scott
"Let me put it this way: the 5150 will treat
you better than any girlfriend, because it screams louder, it's easier to pick up, and it shuts up when you take your plug out." -Rip Glitter

Re: what do i do? new pups
Radioshack makes some pretty nice irons for like $10. I would also get some desoldering braid so if you mess up you can easily fix it. I found this site helpful:
