i have it in my alder charvel, with just a volume on it. and it wasn't bright.

be warned that the super distortion may seam bright at first. when i bought it i was like yikes this is bright. lol. but i just put in a 250k tone pot and that thickend it up alot. yeah i would go with a paf pro or an evolution neck. the evolution neck has this wicked cool mid range thing goin on. and dont worry. it wont sound like steve vai if you dont want it to.

Hey guys ordered my dimarzio super distortion for my alder guitar the other day, but now the other problem: Neck pup.

What pup blends nicely with the superD? Can be seymour or dimarzio, but itd be mainly for some nice metallica solos (I.E creeping death/fade to black etc), Van halen solos from the F.U.C.K Album. Ya know the generally 80s rock/metal thing, but also has a nice clean tone. I love neck pups with thick bridge tones for soloing.
