    There is one significant difference when changing from a 250k Volume pot, to a 500k volume + 500k tone:

    With a 500k volume pot you will loose more high frequencies due to extra resistance driving the cable capacitance.
    If not using any treble bleed circuit, the 500k volume pot will make it sound warmer when you turn the volume down to around 6/10 or lower.
    AFAIK Suhr use a RC treble bleed on their HSS wiring scheme. This will actually boost the high frequencies to negatate the effect of the 500k volume pot.
