I'm sure this has been covered before, but please clarify for me. Someone recently wrote that Jeff Beck used a JB on Blow by Blow, but he's got a Les Paul on the cover. So on his classic "Cause We've Ended As Lovers," what exactly did he use?

Re: Does JB even use a JB?
The LP on the cover is NOT the guitar use on the album...at lease not the whole thing. Seymour built Jeff a Telecaster with 2 humbuckers in it...the pickups were would for Jeff by Seymour and are the first JB/Jazz combo, Cause we've ended as lovers IS a JB and a Jazz...the first ones in fact!If you just read a post by The Guy Who Invented Fire please understand that opinions change, mind sets change and as players our ears mature...not to mention our needs grow and change. With that in mind, today I may or may not agree with the post you just read!

Yes...most if not all of his Pauls had the stock pups. The Brown Blow by Blow paul had the p-90 taken out and a set from a 57 Gold Top put in it. In fact Jeff used to have a favorite Paul (the one from the Truth album) and the neck got broken and when the neck got repaired the repair man lifted the PAF's and put in "late model" Gibson pups...Jeff hated this and got rid of the guitar! That is the reason that Seymour made the Tele-Gib in the first place! If you just read a post by The Guy Who Invented Fire please understand that opinions change, mind sets change and as players our ears mature...not to mention our needs grow and change. Originally posted by BachToRockThe Tele-Gib probably had 250k pots in it which will make humbuckers sound warmer... also, that's obviously a small amp with lot's of POWER TUBE saturation going on unlike most of the tones produced today with PREAMP TUBE saturation.
It DOES have 250k pots and Blow by Blow was a 50 watt marshall...cranked!If you just read a post by The Guy Who Invented Fire please understand that opinions change, mind sets change and as players our ears mature...not to mention our needs grow and change.
