    What do you suggest? I'm simply looking for a neck pickup to change from the stock.

        Got a APS-II in the neck of all my strats. That's the ticket for me!!

          Another vote for Alnico II here. I use APS-1's (staggered poles) in one of my strats and they're epecially fine in the neck position.

            Quarter Pound Strats are hard to beat. They're a little noisy, but that's kind of the nature of the beast, isn't it?
