  • Output voltage

Does anybody know what is the output voltage of a Distortion, a Dimebucker and an Invader? I know that the Invader has the highest ouyput among those but what about numbers of mVolts? I can't compare them with other brand's pickups unless I know numbers.

    Re: Output voltage

Hi Sozo's; Unfortunately, even if we could tell you the output voltage, you still couldn't compare it with another brand of pups. You wouldn't be able to duplicate their testing conditions. For example, did some tech just "strum" the guitar? Did they mount a pick on a counterweight, suspended x number of inches above the strings on a slide? Did they vibrate a mass of metal at a certain frequency in front of the pup?

See what I mean? The measurement would be meaningless. The best thing to do is just to try to talk to folks, (us), who've used certain pups, in certain applications, and go from there. I know its difficult, but its really the only way.

Hey, which pickups are you trying to compare them too? I've used all three of the Duncans you mentioned, plus EMGs, plus a bunch of DiMarzios, so I might be able to help.
