Hey. I have an EPI SG G-400 that I want to toss a new bridge humbucker in. It is made of a couple very resonant pieces of Mahogany - much more lively than most Gibson's I've played lately. How would a C5/'59 hybrid sound in this guitar? I'm looking for classic marshall rock tones, ranging from AC/DC to Fair Warning era Van Halen. Is this a yes or no? THanks guys.

Re: C5/'59 Bridge Hybrid for SG?
The Hybrid will get the AC/DC tone wihout a problem... the regular C5 should do alright as well, but is slightly compressed compared to the hybrid and may lose some of the clarity in the wound strings which is such a huge part of the AC/DC sound...
BTW... you will need a good Marshall and a pair of Black Shorts as well!GMP Guitars RULE!

Re: C5/'59 Bridge Hybrid for SG?
killer! i'm running a custom built hotrodded '59 bassman/jtm 45 style head. It has no problem nailing those early marshall tones with the right axe. only thing is that my C-5 is f-spaced. Will that make much of a difference in how it sound in an SG?teles? voxes? what is happening to me?!
